Cafeteros Pro lose Argentine trio to season ending injuries

Los Cafeteros Pro have suffered a triple injury blow; a trio of Argentine players have been ruled out for the remainder of the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) season. Second-rower Ramiro Tallone, flanker / N8 Aníbal Panceyra Garrido, and fullback Facundo Pueyrredón will not play again in 2021 for Los Cafeteros Pro.

The three players were absent from Sunday’s SLAR match. Los Cafeteros Pro were beaten by the third placed Selknam. The match was a round six fixture. The Colombian side will  face competition leaders, the unbeaten Jaguares XV in round seven on Friday.

The injuries will ask questions of Los Cafeteros Pro. On Sunday the team featured nine Colombians in the starting line-up. Danny Giraldo, Gerson Ortiz, and Andrés Álvarez started in the respective positions of the injured Argentine players. All three are regulars for Colombia’s test side, Los Tucanes. In short, Los Cafeteros are actively solving the loss of the aforementioned Argentine players.
