Domingo Miotti the match-winner on his Western Force debut

Domingo Miotti made an instant impact for the Western Force. On his Super Rugby AU debut, the Argentine secured the winning points. The Western Force were 16-15 winners over the Melbourne Rebels.

Miotti was one of four Argentines starting for the Western Force. The record-breaking starting formation saw Miotti at fly half, Tomás Cubelli at scrum-half, Tomás Lezana at flanker and Santiago Medrano at tight head prop. The Rebels also had a former Jaguar of their own with Lucio Sordoni featuring as a replacement.

The winning points came with a late conversion. Miotti slotted a 78th minute conversion. It was the from the Western Force’s only try of the match. It followed earlier penalties from the Tucumán fly half. Miotti will move north to Scotland at the end of the Super Rugby AU season. He will play in the Pro 14 for the Glasgow Warriors.
