Unbeaten Argentina Men underline Olympic credentials in Dubai

Argentina were crowned Men’s champions in Dubai today. Los Pumas 7’s went unbeaten in the two day tournament to underline their Olympic medals credentials. Argentina won the final 19-7 today against France.

The road to the final began today against Chile. Argentina were 19-7 winners in the battle of the Andes. The three tries to one victory saw Franco Sábato, Marcos Moneta, and Lautaro Bazán Vélez each touching down.

The Quarter Final win over Chile saw Argentina into a favorable Semi Final against Japan. The South Americans powered past Asia’s best team, completing a 24-5 win. Moneta scored again. Further first half tries were scored by Santiago Mare and Ignacio Mendy while Fernando Luna went over in the second half.

Argentina won the final by three tries to one. Moneta crossed for two first half tries. The win was sealed in the second half through Lucio Cinti. The win follows Argentina’s two tournament wins earlier this year in Madrid. Los Pumas 7’s have three tournament wins without losing a match in 2021.
