Santiago Socino is the latest Pumas international to extend their stay in Europe. The 28-year-old hooker has signed a new contract with Gloucester that will keep him in the English Premiership for at least another year, though the length of the new deal has not been disclosed.
Socino originally joined the club in February as a replacement for departing Australia international James Hansen. It was initially a short-term contract through the end of the current season. He has made six appearances since and notably scored a try in his first start against Wasps.
Gloucester have struggled with injuries and personnel changes this season and are currently in 11th spot on the Premiership table. They are not in danger of dropping to the Championship, however, with relegation dropped his season due to the pandemic. Socino is joined by fellow Pumas internationals Matías Alemanno and Santiago Carreras as the club.
