Rugby ATL signs Mitre 10 winger Te Rangatira Waitokia

Rugby ATL have confirmed the signature of outside back Te Rangatira Waitokia for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old New Zealander has already been with the team for several weeks and played in both the Silver vs Black intra-squad match and the hit-out against the Utah Warriors.

Waitokia has been a regular starter for the Manawatu Turbos in New Zealand’s provincial Mitre 10 Cup for the past four seasons. He earned selection to the NZ Heartland XV in 2016 while playing for Wanganui, and has also played for NZ Universities and the All Blacks Sevens development side.

An elusive attacker, he is equally at home at fullback or on the wing and can also cover outside center. He joins an impressive ATL backs division that has already added South African scrumhalf Rowan Gouws, former Raptors center Robbie Petzer, and Argentina international Bautista Ezcurra.
