Ex-RUNY prop Will Burke finds new home with Rugby ATL

Will Burke has found a new home in Major League Rugby. The tighthead prop has signed on with Rugby ATL for the 2021 season. Confirmation comes just two days before his 24th birthday. He is the second former Rugby United New York prop to join following Jonas Petrakopoulos.

After making his professional debut with RUNY during the 2020 season, Burke signed on with the Dallas Jackals only for the team to withdraw from the season earlier this year. He recently joined ATL on trial and wore the Ratler shirt for the first time this past weekend against the Utah Warriors.

Burke effectively fills the roster vacancy left by the unexpected retirement of Julian Montes due to injury. ATL now have five props signed up including incumbent starters Chance Wenglewski and Duane Aholelei, and newcomer Lincoln Sii. First choice hooker Alex Maughan is also capable of playing prop.
