Two tries for Rodrigo Bruni as Vannes extend Pro D2 lead

Rodrigo Bruni’s strong form continues in France. The Argentine N8 scored two tries in Vannes’ home win on Thursday. Vannes were 33-20 winners in a match wherein Bruno scored his second and third tries for Vannes. His first was in February in a win over Nevers.

Bruni touched down for Vannes with one try in either half. His tries were scored in the 12th and 65th minutes. His first saw him withstanding a tackle to powerover while loosing a cleat. His second try was that of a winger. Bruni was standing out wide and ran from near halfway to score untouched.

Vannes scored five tries in total, three more than opponents Mont de Marsan. Veteran Argentine prop Carlos Muzzio started for Mont de Marsan.

Vannes are very well positioned in the Pro D2. The north-western French team leads the Pro D2. After 22 rounds Vannes have 81 competition points. Perpignan are second with 79 and Biarritz are 3rd with 72. The next best sides are Colomiers and Oyonnax both with 57 points.

Vannes next opponent will be Montauban. The Brittany team will travel south for the match on Friday. Vannes will need to come away with points given that Perpignan have home axvangtage for their match against Aix-en-Provence.
