Rugby United New York signs Union County prop Joe Brady

Rugby United New York have confirmed the signing of Joe Brady for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 29-year-old prop hails from New Jersey and joins from Union County RFC, also known as the Mudturtles. This is his first professional contract.

Brady was a High School All-American who played alongside new Seawolves prop Henry Hall and Eagles 7s captain Madison Hughes in 2010. He spent two seasons with Kutztown University before returning to Union County. In 2014 the Mudturtles toured to Turks & Caicos and played against the national team.

Comfortable on both sides of the scrum, Brady adds depth to the RUNY front row which is now comprised of nine players. Other props include James Rochford, Anthony Parry, Zak Taulafo, Samu Tawake, and Kirk Hamilton. Wilton Rebolo covers both prop and hooker, with Dylan Fawsitt and Rob Irimescu the specialist hookers though both have also lined up in the back row in previous MLR games.
