NOLA signs experienced MLR flyhalf Timothée Guillimin

NOLA Gold have announced the signing of flyhalf Timothée Guillimin for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old is well known to MLR fans having previously played for Austin Elite and this past season for the New England Free Jacks.

Guillimin joined New England part-way through the 2019 season, departing Austin after spending three years in Texas. He had originally joined the Austin Huns prior to the creation of MLR. He remains Austin’s all-time scoring leader with 113 points in 14 games.

The 2020 season saw Guillimin playing all five games for New England. He started three times after established starter Tadhg Leader was injured in the opening week. Guillimin is a rarity for the Gold in that he is a specialist No10, a position NOLA have more often fielded utility players.

Born in Tahiti but raised in France, Guillimin earned national u18 honors while with Agen. His three-year spell in Texas qualified him for the USA but he has since returned to France to play for Nîmes and will be classified as an import player at NOLA.
