NOLA re-signs promising lock William Waguespack

NOLA Gold have confirmed another contract extension, this time for 23-year-old lock William Waguespack. The USA u20 cap signs on for the 2021 Major League Rugby season after missing out on field time during to the shortened 2020 campaign.

A native of New Orleans, Waguespack joined the Gold ahead of their inaugural 2018 season. He made his professional debut in 2019 against the Glendale Raptors, earning his second start one month later against the Utah Warriors. Later that year he represented the USA South Panthers opposite Old Glory DC.

Waguespack is an imposing figure at 6’6″ (1.98m) who will be keen to make his mark in 2021. Other second row options for the Gold include incumbent captain Kyle Baillie, Uruguay’s Ignacio Dotti, Samoa international Kane Thompson, and Rhode Island export Billy Stewart.
