Shalom Suniula signs on for more with Seawolves

Shalom Suniula will play a fourth Major League Rugby season for the Seattle Seawolves. After speculation he could opt for retirement, the 32-year-old has signed on for the 2021 campaign.

The last of three USA international brothers to play in MLR, Suniula captained the Seawolves to back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019. He passed the armband on to current skipper Riekert Hattingh in 2020 but remained a central figure, starting all five matches.

Primarily a halfback earlier in his career, Suniula has featured largely as a center for Seattle thus far. It remains to be seen what role he will play in 2021 with a number of options in the midfield including UK imports Ross Neal and Kieran Joyce.
