Argentina unbeaten to start Madrid 7s round two

Argentina went unbeaten today in Spain. In the second of two Sevens tournaments in Madrid, Los Pumas’ remain unbeaten. Argentina defeated Spain, Portugal, and Chile in today’s matches.

Los Pumas 7’s started with a 37-5 win over hosts Spain. Marcos Moneta, Matías Osadczuk, Rodrigo Etchart, Joaquín de la Vega, and Rodrigo Isgro all touched down for tries.

Argentina won game two 21-0 against Portugal. Moneta and Etchart again went over for tries. Germán Schulz also scored. Lautaro Bazán Vélez converted two tries before being replaced through injury.

Moneta opened the scoring against Chile. He did so in what was a 31-5 victory. Both Moneta and Etchart scored in all three matches. Moneta scored a double in the match against Chile while, in addition to Etchart, Schulz, and Isgro were the other try scorers.

In other results the USA Men’s Eagles recorded a win over Chile. Los Cóndores were winless on the day. The USA Women’s Eagles were 32-5 winners over Spain and 62-0 winners over Poland.
