The Seattle Seawolves have confirmed the addition of four players to their extended roster for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. Most notable is returning flyhalf Scott Dean, who is joined by props Alfred ‘Freddy’ Tafuna and Henry Hall, and lock Conor McGill.
Dean, 25, has played seven games for the Seawolves since joining the team ahead of the 2019 season. A USA u20 select and Collegiate All-American in sevens, he appeared in three games in 2020 including starts against San Diego and Old Glory following injury to regular starter Ben Cima.
Tafuna, 28, and Hall, 27, add depth to the front row. Each has appeared on both sides of the scrum for Seattle Rugby Club, though the latter is likely earmarked for his USA u20 position of tighthead. Hall was initially set to play for the Dallas Jackals before their withdrawal.
McGill is the oldest of the quartet at 29 and the most traveled. The 6’5″ (1.96m) lock from Saint Paul began his senior career with Metropolis, with stints at Trinity College in Ireland, Montreal Irish in Canada, and RC Donau in Austria. He recently trialed with NOLA Gold during the fall exhibition campaign.
