Houston will play host to a preseason double-header at AVEVA Stadium on Saturday, March 6. The first match will feature Texan neighbors Austin against NOLA at 4pm local, with the Gold splitting their squad and taking the pitch again at 7pm against the SaberCats.
While the Texas Cup won’t be on the line, the two contenders will offer a precursor to the real thing on Thursday, March 11, when the Cats square off against the AGs. It’s a 7pm local kickoff again to be played at AVEVA Stadium.
The matches bring the total Major League Rugby preseason count to six games confirmed to date. Old Glory will kick things off on Friday, March 5 when they host the New England Free Jacks for an indoor clash at The St. James. DC will will then hit the road to play Rugby ATL on Saturday, March 13, in Marietta.
It will be the third successive weekend of action for the Ratlers. They travel to Salt Lake for a match against the Utah Warriors on March 6, but will also stream their Silver vs Black intra-squad match this coming Saturday, February 27, on Facebook.
