ARN Player of the Week – Facundo Isa

This past weekend saw several Argentines putting up their hand in Europe while fans were also treated to the return of international sevens. Again it was Argentina who impressed in Madrid, though both the USA men’s and women’s sides finished in third place with a few standouts.

Nia Toliver was the find of the weekend for the Women’s Eagles. The speedster scored an impressive eight tries in just six games and looks to have a bright future ahead of her. On the men’s side we continue to be impressed by Christian Dyer who is in with a shout at making the Olympic roster.

Over in Europe there are nothing but positives to say about Julián Montoya’s introduction to the English Premiership. Leicester fans are relieved to see him in a Tigers shirt after he was nearly lost to the Western Force. Emiliano Boffelli was a match-winner for Racing 92, and Juan Cruz Mallía enjoyed his Toulouse and Top 14 debut.

This week’s winner is a name who has been somewhat quiet in recent months. It’s taken some time but Facundo Isa looks to be returning to the form that made him one of the world’s most fearsome ball carriers. On Saturday he scored two tries and was named Man of the Match as Toulon picked up a narrow road win over Pau.
