Rodrigo Bruni scores first try for Vannes

Rodrigo Bruni scored his first try for Vannes. He did so on Friday in a Pro D2 match against Nevers. The try was a third phase play with the Pumas N8 bumping off a tackle to slice through the defense and score.

It came against the run of play. Vannes failed to secure their own lineout ball. Vannes won the overthrown throw and hit it up with two phases. The third was Bruni’s ball. He turned it into seven points by scoring under the posts.

The contest was a 17-17 draw. The outcome of the match combined with Perpignan’s bonus point road victory means that Vannes are now Pro D2 co-leaders with Perpignan. Both teams have former Jaguares on their rosters.
