Former Raptors prop Marco Fepulea’i lands in LA

The LA Giltinis have reinforced their front row stocks with the signing of former Raptors prop Marco Fepulea’i for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. A tighthead specialist, he is the latest Colorado castoff to find a third home in the span of a year following the subsequent withdrawal of the Dallas Jackals.

Fepulea’i, 25, joined the Raptors from Auckland prior to the 2019 season. In his two seasons with the team he played in 15 games with a dozen starts, including all five matches of the 2020 campaign. The Samoa u20 cap has returned home to play in the Mitre 10 Cup in each of the past two years.

LA now boast three tightheads with overseas experience on their roster. Ruan Smith and Charlie Abel were previously confirmed signings from Australia. On the loosehead side they have Smith’s twin brother Jean-Pierre along with domestic trio Blake Rogers, Sione Tu’ihalamaka, and Mafi Seanoa.
