Gabby Cantorna named Exeter Player of the Month

USA international Gabby Cantorna has been named Player of the Month by Exeter Chiefs for the month of January. The team won both of their games including a notable upset win over Saracens, who had not tasted defeat since October 2018. They have since recorded their fifth consecutive victory.

Cantorna has been a fixture in the Exeter lineup since arriving before the season. Against Bristol she kicked six points that would prove vital in the four-point win. She tallied seven points in the eight-point result over Saracens.

Despite playing inside center for her club side, Cantorna has been named as a flyhalf in the Eagles long-list for Rugby World Cup 2021. A number of USA Sevens stars are set to challenge for midfield roles with Cantorna’s kicking ability possibly preferred in the No10 shirt.

Kate Zackary earned the same club recognition for November. The duo are among nine North American internationals at the club including fellow Eagles Rachel Johnson, Joanna Kitlinski, and Jennine Duncan, and Canadian quartet Olivia DeMerchant, Emily Tuttosi, McKinley Hunt, and Taylor Black.
