Fifth straight win for Exeter Chiefs in Premier 15s

Exeter Chiefs kept their hot streak going in the Premier 15s with a 17-10 road win over Worcester Warriors at a frosty Sixways Stadium on Saturday. It’s the fifth consecutive victory for Exeter who are now closing in on a top four spot after recovering from a sluggish start to the season.

Nine North Americans featured in the match, eight with Exeter. Kate Zackary opened the scoring for the visitors after a line break from Emily Tuttosi put them in scoring position. Gabby Cantorna miss the conversion but would make good on the second to give the team a 12-5 lead at halftime.

Olivia DeMerchant, McKinley Hunt, and Taylor Black also played well in starting roles. Rachel Johnson came on early in the second half and made an immediate impression with some powerful ball carrying. Joanna Kitlinski had to wait until later in the match to replace the in-form Tuttosi.

Worcester made things difficult for Exeter despite their 8th-place position on the table. Canadian winger Paige Farries nearly cut through for a score late in the game but was stopped short with the Warriors settling for a losing bonus point.
