Dropping like flies: Three Pumas suffer injuries in Europe

They are dropping like flies. That is to say that three Pumas suffered injuries in the latest round of rugby in Europe. Two were injured on Friday in an English Premiership match and a further player today in the French Top 14.

The three injuries follow an earlier injury. Santiago Grondona was injured in training for the Newcastle Falcons. He flew home to Buenos Aires to undergo surgery. The Pumas flanker is beginning his recovery now. His return is likely to follow the July Internationals. As such, he will not return to England this season.

Second-rower Matías Alemanno had a head collision on Friday. Starting for Gloucester against the Bristol Bears, Alemanno was forced off early. Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro started at loose head for the Bristol Bears. Tetaz Chaparro was forced off with a leg injury. Both men are presently being evaluated.

The third injured Puma this weekend is Bautista Delguy. The speedster was injured in Bordeaux’s impressive win over Stade Français. Delguy was forced off after 19 minutes. The severity of his injury remains unconfirmed.
