Arrows sign Canadian-eligible Ross Braude, re-sign Pat Lynott

The Toronto Arrows have announced the signing of scrumhalf Ross Braude for the 2021 Major League Rugby season, and the extension of loosehead prop Pat Lynott. It brings the confirmed squad total to 36 players as the team prepares to move to their temporary home base of Atlanta next month.

Braude arrives from South Africa, where he played for the Bulls age grade sides and captained one of the country’s top schools sides, Grey College. He has represented the South Africa Sevens side at u18 level and was named in the Junior Springbok expanded squad prior to the pandemic.

Recently celebrating his 21st birthday, Braude qualifies for Canada through his father and was a late addition to the High Performance Training Camp held in Langford this past November. Along with returnee Andrew Ferguson and Irish arrival Jason Higgins, there will be no shortage of competition for the Arrows No9 shirt this season.

Lynott’s return confirmation comes late in the hour but was largely expected. The 25-year-old Québec native has been with the team in each of their first two MLR campaigns. He has played 14 games to date with one start. In 2019 Lynott represented the Canadian University All-Stars against the Collegiate All-Americans in their first ever meeting at Glendale.
