Ned Hodson returns to Austin after two-year hiatus

Ned Hodson will return to Major League Rugby for the 2021 season. The 26-year-old utility back last played for Austin Elite in 2018. He joins fellow Irishman and Austin ‘original’ Paddy Ryan in re-joining the club that is now dubbed the Gilgronis.

Formerly of the Munster academy, the US-eligible Hodson has played sparingly for home club Cork Constitution since departing Texas and Austin will be hoping he gets back up to speed quickly. During the 2018 campaign he played seven of eight matches with four starts and two tries.

Hodson featured primarily at outside center and fullback in 2018 but is capable of covering across the backline. He joins a star-studded backs division that already lists internationals Bryce Campbell, Frank Halai, Jeff Hassler, and Cole Davis along with 2020 club captain Zinzan Elan-Puttick.
