Matías Alemanno’s try gives Gloucester a bonus point in defeat

Gloucester were beaten at home on Saturday. The 31-26 defeat sees Gloucester occupying bottom spot in the English Premiership. Despite losing against the Northampton Saints, Gloucester did come away with a competition point. Matías Alemanno’s 78th minute try gave Gloucester a bonus point in defeat.

Alemanno was one of two players from Córdoba starting for Gloucester. He played second-row and Santiago Carreras played fullback. Carreras made his first start, though it was bitter-sweet rather than memorable. Carreras had an aerial collision with George Furbank. The ugly incident saw both players’ leaving the match early.

Gloucester have 7 competition points. This is three fewer than the 11th placed Worcester Warriors. Next up  for Gloucester is an away match against London Irish. Carreras is unlikely to play in the game next Saturday.
