Kate Zackary shines as Exeter snaps Saracens streak

Saracens are no longer perfect in the 2020-21 Premier 15s season. In fact their unbeaten run dated back to October 2018, but it came crashing to a halt on Saturday as Exeter Chiefs took a famous victory with the final score reading 22-14 to the home side at Sandy Park.

The match featured nine North American internationals in all, eight playing for the winners. It was USA captain Kate Zackary who took Player of the Match honors. The openside flanker grabbed a try on a charge-down early in the second half and was prominent throughout.

Other Eagles making their mark included Gabby Cantorna, who started at inside center and kicked two conversions and a penalty goal. Joanna Kitlinski and Rachel Johnson came off the bench to make their club debuts, with the scoring late in the game to ice the result.

Canada was also well represented. Olivia DeMerchant was in outstanding form at loosehead prop, with Taylor Black also looking sharp at flyhalf. Emily Tuttosi and McKinley Hunt started at hooker and lock respectively for Exeter, while Sophie de Goede impressed in defeat at No8 for Saracens.

The match in its entirety can be seen below.
