Jerónimo de la Fuente scores for Perpignan in bonus point loss

Jerónimo de la Fuente was a try scorer on Saturday. The former Jaguares captains scored his first try for Perpignan, dins so in a bonus point loss against Montauban. The 25-23 defeat sees Perpignan dropping from 1st to 2nd position in the Pro D2. Vannes are now the competition leaders with 64 points.

de la Fuente and Perpignan are aiming to win promotion  to the Top 14 for the 2021-2022 season. 13 rounds remain in the regular season. While the roads to the play-off’s is unfolding, there is still a long way to go. Vannes, Perpignan, and Biarritz are arguably the three contenders to finish the regular season at in top spot. Biarritz have 54 points and a game in hand.

Perpignan have three favorable fixtures in the coming rounds. The Catalans will be well-placed to come away with three wins over Carcassonne, Charente, and Valence Romans. Vannes face higher ranked opposition in the coming two rounds against Aurillac and Nevers.
