Old Glory confirm former Arrows No8 Luke Campbell

Old Glory DC have confirmed the signing of Canadian international Luke Campbell for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 28-year-old returns to the league after a year’s hiatus, having played five matches for the Toronto Arrows during the 2019 campaign.

Campbell won his 13th test cap as a replacement against Italy in his only appearance at Rugby World Cup 2019. Also comfortable on the blindside flank, he has been used largely at No8 by Canada in the absence of regular starter Tyler Ardron since debuting in February 2018.

Since the tournament in Japan, Campbell has played for his home club James Bay in the BC Premiership. He joins countryman Doug Fraser at Old Glory and is effectively a direct replacement for another Canadian loose forward, the departed Travis Larsen who has signed for the San Diego Legion.
