Brazilian match-up in Italian Top 10

There will be a Brazilian math-up in the Italian Top 10. Colorno have recently recruited Brazilian test center Lorenzo Massari. His debut appearance is to be this weekend against Valorugby Emilia, the home of Brazilian second-rower Matteo Dell’Acqua. Valorugby Emilia and Colono will meet in an Emilia regional derby clash.

The 23-year-old Massari has 8 caps for Brazil. He made his test debut against Canada in the 2019 Americas Rugby Championship (ARC). It was a victorious debut with Massari making a late appearance in the win as a replacement. His most recent cap was a loss against Portugal in Lisbon this past November.

Dell’Acqua was born and raised in Italy. He qualifies to play for Brazil via the parent eligibility law; his mother is Brazilian. The 29-year-old played for Italy at u18, u19 and u20 levels. He was not captured by Italy and thus able to play for Brazil. He made his test debut in a thriller against the USA in the 2019 ARC; Massari also featured in the match. The most recent of his 6 caps was in a win over Portugal in São Paulo in November 2019.
