LA signs Free Jacks back row Pago Haini

The LA Giltinis have snapped up another hard-running loose forward for their inaugural Major League Rugby campaign. Former USA Sevens select Pago Haini has signed on after spending the past two years with the New England Free Jacks.

This will be Haini’s third MLR team. The 29-year-old made four appearances for the Houston SaberCats during the 2018 season, moving to New England in 2019. After playing during their exhibition run and in the Cara Cup, Haini was retained by the Free Jacks in 2020 but did not make an appearance before the season was suspended.

Primarily a ball-carrying No8, Haini can also play on the flank. He adds punch to a loose forward stable that also includes former Eagles powerhouse Langilangi Haupeakui, Melbourne Rebels flanker Angus Cottrell, and Scotland international Adam Ashe.
