Paige Farries scores double as Warriors rout Sharks

Paige Farries is poised to take home Premier 15s try of the week honors after scoring a double for Worcester Warriors in a 70-6 rout of Durham Sharks on Saturday. The Canadian winger tormented the opposition with some scintillating runs down the right side.

It’s the first try, scored just 9 minutes in, that is a top nominee. A turnover saw the ball shipped wide and Farries duly weaved past four defenders en route to a scoring seven pointer. The second came 8 minutes later. This time Farries stepped off her right foot and cut back across the grain to beat the cover.

Farries set the tone straight from the kickoff, timing her chase to perfection to force a knock-on in a crunching tackle. Another tackle later in the game pinned the Sharks deep in their own and eventually led to a turnover. Worcester are now 8th on the table with three wins but Farries looks in strong form to start the second half of the season.
