Canada hooker Mackenzie Carson returns to Saracens

Mackenzie Carson has returned to Saracens in time for the second half of the Premier 15s campaign. The Abbotsford native joins fellow Canadians Sophie de Goede and new signings Emma Taylor and Alysha Corrigan at the London club who are unbeaten through seven games.

It’s a welcome return to the pitch for Carson, who played for Saracens last season before suffering an ankle injury that required surgical repair in February. This is her third Premier 15s season having played for Bristol in the 2018-19 campaign.

A standout as a back for the UBC Thunderbirds, Carson made the permanent shift to the forwards with Canada’s u20 side. She made her test debut against England in November 2018. Carson could find herself opposite fellow Canadian No2 Emily Tuttosi when Saracens play Exeter on January 30.
