Andrew Durutalo commits to 2021 season with Seawolves

Andrew Durutalo has committed to the 2021 Major League Rugby season with the Seattle Seawolves. The former US Eagles dual-international continues the club’s slow rollout of re-signings in recent weeks and follows fellow loose forwards Eric Duechle and Nakai Penny in extending his stay.

For Durutalo this will technically be his second MLR campaign though his first hardly felt like one. The 33-year-old was limited to just a single regular season appearance, against Old Glory in Week 2, due to injury. He also appeared in the preseason friendly against the Tasman Mako.

Along with Duechle and Penny, Durutalo will be joined by to-be-confirmed returnees Vili Toluta’u and Riekert Hattingh in Seattle’s back row division. His ability to cover all three loose forward positions will allow for rotation during what will be a congested regular season with only two off-weeks.
