Belmont Shore winger Visesio Leasi signs for LA

The LA Giltinis have confirmed the signing of Belmont Shore winger Visesio Leasi for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. An imposing figure at 6’2″ (1.88m) and 240lbs (110kg), it’s the first professional contract for the 23-year-old.

Leasi was born in American Samoa and played for Samoa Schools against Australia in 2015. He also represented Samoa at the 2015 Youth Commonwealth Games, and was a non-traveling reserve for the team at the 2016 World Rugby u20 Trophy tournament.

Since arriving in the USA in early 2018, Leasi has featured primarily as a sevens player for Belmont Shore. He will be eligible to play for the Eagles from early 2021. Leasi joins former Raptors powerhouse John Ryberg and Canada star DTH van der Merwe as wing options in 2021.
