Bristol Bears sign Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro from Jaguares

The Bristol Bears have signed Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro from Los Jaguares. It marks a return to the UK for the 31-year-old. He previously played in the Pro 14 for the Dragons in 2013-2014. The experienced prop has also previously played for Lyon and Stade Français in the Top 14 and was a Jaguar from 2016-2020.

The Bristol Bears have contracted Tetaz Chaparro on a short-term deal as a medical joker. The contract is for the remainder of the 2020-2021 season. He will join the team in early January.

Tetaz Chaparro is from General Madariaga. He is a product of Bigua rugby in Mar del Plata. He joins the Bristol bears with 62 test caps. The latest of these was in the Tri Nations. He started at loose head prop in three of the four matches in the competition. They were both draws against Australia and the historic win over New Zealand.

A versatile prop, Tetaz Chaparro was on the RWC 2015 roster as a tight head prop and on the RWC 2019 roster as a tight head prop.  His move to Bristol marks the latest in the Argentine 2020 player exodus.
