Santiago González Iglesias will play Major League Rugby (MLR). The former Puma has signed for the San Diego Legion. He does so a year after joining Japanese side Munakata Sanix Blues. The Legion will be the third professional team for the Argentine back and the USA will be the third country that he has played professional rugby in.

González Iglesias moves to the MLR at the age of 32. He does so with 41 test caps to his name. He earned his caps from 2011-2018. He debuted against Chile and his most recent cap was against Australia.
He was in the Argentine high performance system from 2010-2019. This saw him playing for Los Pampas XV, the side who won the Vodacom Cup; and Los Jaguares in Super Rugby.
Daniel Hourcade selected González Iglesias for RWC 2015. He played in three matches during the tournament, scoring 11 points against Namibia. In the 2016 Rugby Championship he scored the winning points against South Africa in Salta.
The San Diego Legion have noted his versatility. Indeed, González Iglesias has test starts for Argentina at fly half, inside center, and outside center. He can also play at fullback and did so for the Munakata Sanix Blues.
