Super Rugby standout Bill Meakes signs for LA

LA will have Super Rugby standout Bill Meakes on their roster for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 29-year-old midfielder makes the move to the Giltinis from the Melbourne Rebels. He most recently enjoyed a short-term stay with London Irish in the English Premiership.

An age-grade international up to u20 level, Meakes played for the Australia Sevens team in 2011. His professional career received a boost when he joined Gloucester in the Premiership. Meakes made his Super Rugby debut with the Western Force in 2017. He moved to the Rebels the following year and toured with the Barbarians in 2019.

Makes is known as a hard-running inside center who will compliment the attacking style of flyhalf signing Luke Burton at LA. An impressive backline cast also includes outside backs Mika Kruse, DTH van der Merwe, and John Ryberg.
