Peni Tagive moves from Austin to Dallas

The Dallas Jackals have announced the signing of Peni Tagive for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. He arrives from soon-to-be Texas Cup rivals Austin where he has played for the past two years.

After appearing primarily on the wing for Austin during the 2019 campaign, Tagive switched to outside center for the Gilgronis this year. He started the first three games of the season prior to the arrival of New Zealand international Frank Halai.

A former USA Eagles training squad member, Tagive looks to be earmarked for a wing position with Dallas. At 6’4″ (1.93m) the 32-year-old provides the team with an imposing physical presence in the wide spaces. He follows Austin teammate Skyler Adams in making the move north.
