Four Canadians in featured Premier 15s Saturday broadcast

Four Canadian internationals will start for Loughborough Lightning against Wasps on Saturday in this weekend’s feature broadcast in the Premier 15s. Currently ranked 3rd and 4th respectively, the match takes on extra significance as two others have been postponed due to potential COVID exposure.

Scheduled games that will not take place are Sharks vs Sharks – Durham vs Sale – and Exeter’s clash with Saracens. Make-up dates have yet to be confirmed, but it rules out a number of North American players from taking the field this weekend.

Loughborough will feature a nearly identical team to the one that thrashed Durham last weekend. Retained in the starting pack are DaLeaka Menin at tighthead prop, the second row pairing of Courtney Holtkamp and Abby Duguid, and openside flanker Sara Svoboda.

Kickoff is set for 1:30pm local time, 8:30am Eastern, 5:30am Pacific. Live broadcasts will be available on the England Rugby YouTube and Facebook pages, and the Premier 15s Twitter channel.

Sunday’s game between Worcester and Gloucester-Hartpury will go ahead as scheduled. It will be the first women’s game with spectators in attendance since March. Canada’s Paige Farries will start on the wing for the Warriors as they look to inch their way out of the bottom half of the table.
