Raptors star John Ryberg lands in LA

The question of John Ryberg’s next destination has been answered. Major League Rugby’s joint all-time leading try scorer has landed with the LA Giltinis. The ex-Raptors winger leaves Colorado for California on a deal that runs through the 2022 season.

Ryberg, 28, is among the league’s most effective attacking players. Carrying 235lbs (107kg) on a 5’11” (1.80m) frame, ‘Muscles’ bashed his way to a regular season record of 13 tries during the 2019 campaign. With three tries in five games this past year he is now tied with former Raptors teammate Harley Davidson with 16 across the league’s three seasons to date.

LA now boasts two of the league’s premier finishers with Canada and Glasgow Warriors try titan DTH van der Merwe ready to make his mark in MLR. He will find four other Glendale exports in LA with Blake Rogers, Nick Boyer, and Mika Kruse already confirmed and Luke White set to follow.
