Djustice Sears-Duru re-signs with Seattle Seawolves

Djustice Sears-Duru has signed on for a third Major League Rugby campaign with the Seattle Seawolves. The 26-year-old Canadian international has been a staple for the team since arriving part-way through the 2019 season, which culminated in Seattle’s second consecutive MLR Shield title.

With 52 test caps Sears-Duru is already in exclusive company, just the 22nd player to reach the half-century for Canada. After returning from the World Cup in Japan he started all five games for the Seawolves during the 2020 campaign, playing nearly 75% of all possible minutes at loosehead prop.

Following Utah’s squad reveal and LA’s recent signing spree, Seattle are now the slowest team in MLR to name their roster for next season with only eight confirmed players to date. Canadians George Barton and Brock Staller are among them, with Jake Ilnicki and Nakai Penny also expected to return.
