Kate Zackary’s outstanding form to start her Premier 15s career continued on Saturday. While Exeter were on the wrong side of a 24-14 defeat to Wasps, the US Eagles captain earned plaudits for her all-around play. Among Zackary’s highlights were a superb offload in the first half and a crucial turnover to shut down a threatening Wasps attack.
Fellow USA reps Gabby Cantorna and Jennine Duncan also featured well, with the former kicking two conversions and the latter impressing after coming off at halftime in her return from injury. Canadian lock McKinley Hunt grabbed a first half try for the Chiefs, with Emily Tuttosi and Taylor Black also starting.
Exeter are in the middle of the table with a 2-4 record after 6 rounds of their first Premier 15s campaign. Their points differential is virtually identical to 5th place Gloucester-Hartpury. Harlequins are in first spot followed by Saracens, Loughborough, and Wasps.
