Old Glory signs Glasgow’s Callum Gibbins as player-coach

Old Glory DC have announced the signing of Glasgow Warriors flanker Callum Gibbins on a player-coach deal for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 32-year-old New Zealand native arrives having co-captained the Warriors for the past two Guinness Pro 14 seasons.

Gibbins will arrive stateside with vast professional experience. He made his senior provincial debut with Manawatu in 2009 and would be a starter for the Turbos through to 2016. Originally signed by the Hurricanes in 2013, Gibbins would finally play the first of three Super Rugby campaigns in 2015.

In 2017 the openside specialist made the move to Glasgow where he made 45 starts across all competitions. Gibbins will focus on the forwards and defense at Old Glory, joining backs specialist Toshi Palamo as assistants under Head Coach Andrew Douglas.
