Large North American presence in Premier 15s return

North American players will feature in four of five games as the Premier 15s returns to a full slate of action on Saturday. English semi-professional women’s division was on a brief hiatus due to the completion of the Six Nations Championship.

The featured match of the weekend will see two Canadians playing for Loughborough against Harlequins. Courtney Holtkamp starts at lock for the Lightning with flanker Sara Svoboda named on the bench. The match kicks off at 2pm local time (9am Eastern) and will be broadcast live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and the Web.

An impressive seven North American players will play at Sandy Park, six for the home team Exeter. Canada’s Olivia DeMerchant gets her first start in Chiefs colors, with international teammates Emily Tuttosi, McKinley Hunt, and Taylor Black starting at hooker, lock, and flyhalf respectively. Eagles pair Kate Zackary and Gabby Cantorna line up at openside flanker and inside center. Making her professional debut for Worcester is Canadian winger Paige Farries.

New Saracens signing Sophie de Goede is set for her professional bow, the Canadian loose forward named among the replacements against Gloucester-Hartpury. USA veteran Jess Wooden starts at fullback for Sale Sharks opposite Bristol Bears.
