Lamborn takes Southland to win over leaders Otago

Tony Lamborn had a match to remember today. The USA Eagles flanker took Southland to a win over league leaders Otago. Southland were 32-15 winners in Invercargill.

Lamborn not only captained the Southland Stags, he also scored the opening try of the match. The win keeps Southland’s Semi Final hopes alive. It also ends a losing streak. Southland lost all four of their matches in October.

Lamborn has 23 caps for the USA. He made his test debut against Italy in 2016. He was a mainstay in the team during the RWC 2015-2019 cycle. Gary Gold started him in all four of the Eagles’ RWC 2019 matches. He was a try scorer against Tonga.
