Royals top league standings at World Tens Series

The London Royals have secured their spot as top seeds heading into the knockout phase of the World Tens Series. Two wins from three including a tense one-point victory over the Ohio Aviators on Tuesday was just enough to give the English side a direct spot in the Semi Final.

Competing at long last was SX10. They played four times in their first action of the tournament and did not disappoint, winning three and thrilling the audience with some spectacular attacking play. Former South Africa u20 cap JT Jackson impressed with a stunning 43 points on the day.

His remarkable one-day effort was bettered by only two other players across the opening four days. Asia Pacific Dragons super-kicker Tommy Bell finished with 53 points in league play while Tom Emery of the Royals topped the charts with 63, his six tries second only to Lino Saunitoga’s seven.

The Rhinos have slipped since their unbeaten opening round but remain second seeds while the Dragons clinched third spot after knocking off the Royals in the final match of the day. Ohio are fourth seeds, with the Miami Sun, SX10, and Phoenix bringing up the bottom of the table.

Saturday’s schedule is yet to be released but there will be three qualifiers played before the Semi Finals. Only the Royals advance directly to the second round.
