One more year for Eric Duechle with Seawolves

The Seattle Seawolves have confirmed flanker Eric Duechle for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. Affectionately nicknamed ‘The Beast’, the 34-year-old has been one of the club’s most popular figures among fans since the league’s inception in 2018.

Duechle played all five matches during the 2020 campaign, starting two. His total of 32 appearances is second all-time for the Seawolves behind only Tim Metcher. The majority of those games were on the blindside though he has occasionally filled in at lock when required.

Seattle have previously confirmed Metcher, goal-kicker Brock Staller, and player-coach Mat Turner for the 2021 season. A number of returning players are currently in Bermuda at the World Tens Series. Among them are lock Brad Tucker, scrumhalf JP Smith, flyhalf Ben Cima, and outside back David Busby.
