Even the Austin Gilgronis are in on the joke. The ‘worst-kept secret in Major League Rugby‘ has now been confirmed. US Eagles center Bryce Campbell will play for the AG’s in 2021. The 26-year-old is currently in Bermuda playing for the Ohio Aviators at the World Tens Series.
Campbell was a key player for the Glendale Raptors in 2018 and made the move to London Irish later that year. He helped the side win promotion to the English Premiership in 2018-19 and played six matches in 2019-20 before the season was put on ice due to the pandemic.
One of the USA’s most consistent performers at international level, Campbell has won 32 caps since debuting against Romania in 2016. He has formed a potent midfield partnership with Paul Lasike for the Eagles and will link up with another World Cup teammate in Will Magie at Austin.
