The Austin Gilgronis have confirmed contracts with their two Collegiate Draft picks Mason Koch and Lui Sitama for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. Koch begins his professional career at the age of 23 while Sitama is one year older.
Koch was selected 16th overall and is the second hooker signed by Austin for the new campaign following South African addition Robbie Coetzee. The Iowa native joins from Dartmouth College where he captained Big Green during his senior year.
Austin’s first round pick at 4th overall was Sitama. Hailing from Olympia, Washington, he was a standout midfielder for the AIC Yellow Jackets. The AG’s have previously confirmed the returns Frank Halai, Rodrick Waters, and Zinzan Elan-Puttick as outside backs for next season.
