World Tens Series delays start of Round 2

The second round of the inaugural World Tens Series event in Bermuda will be delayed by two days. Initially slated for this coming Saturday and Sunday, the matches will now be played on Monday and Tuesday (November 2 and 3) of next week.

It’s a decision necessitated by strict Bermudian government regulations regarding COVID-19. The SX10 entry forfeited the opening round after one player returned a positive test. All other players have since tested negative and pending a second round of testing will be cleared to participate on Monday.

Also set to enter the tournament are a number of Southern Kings players who will be competing under the Phoenix banner. The team was forced to call in several Bermudian internationals to fill during the opening round, with only three players from the main squad competing on Day Two.

The Rhinos, an American entry, were surprise winners of the opening round, with a dramatic last-gasp try against the London Royals preserving their unbeaten record. Finals day continues to be scheduled as planned for Saturday, November 7.
