ARN Player of the Week – Martín Sigren

This past weekend saw the closing of an entertaining South American 4 Nations. It was a brief but welcome sighting of international rugby in the Americas this year. We now have two tests between Uruguay and Spain to close out the year. The World Tens Series kicked off in Bermuda and will run for the next two weekends, and European club rugby continues to roll along a bumpy road.

Titi Lamositele continues to play a significant role for Montpellier. He enjoyed arguably his best performance for the team in the win over Brive. Even more notable was the two-try outing for Taylor Paris, man-of-the-match for Oyonnax against Aurillac. Cindy Nelles was a try scorer for Canterbury in the Farah Palmer Cup semi final, and Ignacio Ruiz announced himself as one to watch with four tries for the Argentina XV split over their two wins.

It was a tough call this week but the historic relevance of Chile’s performance in Montevideo was hard to look past. Martín Sigren has developed into an outstanding flanker and captain for the Cóndores and led from the front in the wins over first Uruguay and then Brazil, scoring a try in the second match. His overall impact and leadership earns him recognition as the ARN Player of the Week.
