Samu Tawake added to Barbarians team for England

Just days after being named in the Fiji squad for the upcoming Autumn Nations Cup, Samu Tawake has another reason to celebrate. The Rugby United New York prop is one of seven Fijian players added to the Barbarians squad to face England. Vern Cotter and Glen Jackson will coach both teams.

Only one of the Fijians – utility back Serupepeli Vularika – has played test rugby to date. The others added are prop Haereiti Hetet, hooker Tevita Ikanivere, lock or loose forward Manueli Ratuniyarawa, flanker Rusiate Nasove, and scrumhalf Simione Kuruvoli.

The squad now totals 19 players with nine coming from Saracens including Pumas center Juan Pablo Socino. Former England captain Chris Robshaw will play his final match at Twickenham before departing to the USA to play for the San Diego Legion. Four players are to still to be confirmed.

The Barbarians will face England for the Quilter Cup on Saturday, October 25.
